Polishing correctly! Be sure to get all the scratches out before getting to the polishing step. You should have 99% of the texture and scratches out with the wool pad. Then I really like going to a middle step of using a foam pad and compound. This gets a really good start on polishing, and finished cleaning up scratches very nicely. I really like using the white @buffandshinemfg pad 899fbw. It cuts just enough for a foam pad without being too aggressive or getting too hot.
